Which ReSkate version is available now?

The latest checked stable release is 2.1.2. Its player ZIP, launcher, runtime and Windows/Linux server assets were refreshed October 24 around 17:17 UTC, then published at 17:18 UTC. The release has full notes and no Pre-release label. The supported Steam game build remains 25414733; a retail skate. update is a separate operation.

Three sources of update information
SourceWhat you can infer
GitHub release + attached manifestA published download and the components/build it pins. Review its notes and actual assets.
Main branch / merged commitDevelopment work exists at that source revision. A later release must be checked separately.
Open pull request or player reportA proposed change or an observed problem. Neither proves a fix is merged or available in a stable client.

Music, drones and Hardcore from the earlier 2.1.0 release

The earlier 2.1.0 release introduced a controller-friendly fullscreen menu, expanded music playback, FPV drone filming, Hardcore physics and mod profiles/dependency installation. Those are existing released features rather than new 2.1.1 additions. Keep smaller profiles for heavy collections and use the dedicated setup guides for each feature.

  • Music: Spotify, YouTube Music, External Audio, Plex, local files and internet radio are listed in the release. Use the source-specific setup and account requirements.
  • Menus: switch between window and fullscreen styles with F11 or controller View. SANDBOX is now Trainer; numeric boxes allow exact slider values.
  • Hardcore joins Realistic: closer grind alignment, speed loss during grinds/slides, slower flips/spins and earlier bails.
  • Mod profiles and dependency installation came with 2.1.0. Version 2.1.1 adds a compact MY MODS table, drag handles and editable position numbers, alongside revised conflict handling.
  • Creation: Park Editor object sets/duplicate controls and optional freecam keyframe smoothing support building and filming.

2.1.0 / 2.1.1 — FPV drone and Follow me are released

Plugin migration follows the stable 2.1.2 release notes. Detailed flight controls and remote-drone markers below are historical 2.1.1/hotfix documentation. No current plugin flight, video export or USB-radio compatibility test is implied. The DRONE page provides START FLYING for manual flight and FOLLOW ME for automatic filming while you skate. It supports gamepad, keyboard/mouse and USB RC input, with follow distance and aggressiveness controls. The hotfix temporarily replaces other players’ 3D drones with audible markers after a lobby crash; this does not remove your own drone controls.

What changes in 2.1.1: conflicts, official packs and crashes

Resolve conflicts → Load this one selects between incompatible mods and remembers the choice until the order changes or another conflict appears. The higher mod loads; conflicts no longer stop Play or warn at game startup. Installed official packs move automatically into MY MODS for ordering and On / Off controls. Other players’ objects are solid by default, with a per-player ghost option. The launcher adds dismissible team announcements and fixes a mod-update file-replacement error. GPU changes capture extra crash information, not a universal graphics fix.

The game build and map-download rules

The linked release-day README still requires an independent directory and documents the map-download timing below. ReSkate 2.1.2 remains pinned to Steam build 25414733, not the latest retail skate. content. The separate-folder Proton route is documented but still marked untested.

Retail skate. news has its own content and dates

EA’s retail game received 0.32.5 on October 13, including Parry Point Park. On October 21 in China, EA’s official social post confirmed Isle of Morg is live with open access until November 3. Full Circle’s mod tools remain a development announcement in the sources checked. Retail content is separate from ReSkate’s pinned build; this is not a new ReSkate map or event. Reuters reported on October 21 that EA was restructuring the skate. team into a smaller studio. This is retail-game industry news, not a ReSkate patch or a notice that ReSkate has stopped development.

Follow the project and community

ReSkate’s project Discord identifies itself as official and links its GitHub and X account. Use GitHub Releases and Discord announcements for published changes, Thunderstore author pages for packages, and r/ReSkate for community discussion. The latest reviewed Studio post remains October 12 UTC; current questions about clothing, map export and Steam Deck chat show tutorial demand, not verified solutions. EA’s retail game has separate official channels.

New community reports and work still in progress

The October 20 review adds separate reports of corrupt or dark custom-map textures (#309), UI texture mods reverting on custom maps in 2.1.1 (#311), and absent traffic or pedestrians despite enabled settings (#314). None had a confirmed general fix in the checked threads. Earlier GPU (#308) and invisible-character reports retain their own context. Do not assume these symptoms share a cause; capture the exact build, map, mod profile and log.

Community proposals: October 24 status

Animator Studio #297 and Filmer #343 closed without merging on October 23 UTC. Domination #279, game-text overrides #312 and Style Editor #230 also remain closed and unmerged. Launcher translations #313 remain open and unmerged; poll fixes #310 merged and appear in the 2.1.2 notes. A closed proposal does not establish whether a separate plugin has shipped.

From development to released 2.1.2 features

The earlier development review covered Sandbox trainer #300, replay bitrate #322, server sorting #302 and free Build Kit work #290. Stable 2.1.2 now publishes working 8/12/18 Mbps export choices, around 190 free objects and reversible server sorting. AMD integrated-GPU MP4 export fixes are also in its release notes. These do not retroactively change the old 2.1.1 package.

Plugins reached main; other proposals retain their own status

Plugins Beta is released in stable 2.1.2. Plugin settings appear under PLUGINS in the Insert menu; the author documents per-plugin sandbox permissions and reloads after returning to the game. CrossOver Throwdown fix #320 merged after the release and is later development. Linux server GUI #324 remains a separate proposal, not a native Linux game client.

Stable 2.1.2: features and reported fixes

The stable release adds Lua plugins, native custom Throwdowns, a start map under Settings > GAME, category filters, an UPDATE ALL summary and map sizes before joining. It unlocks around 190 free build-kit objects, supports larger customization lists and restores 8/12/18 Mbps export settings. Reported fixes cover AMD integrated-GPU MP4 export and several texture, streaming, music and long-session crashes. These are upstream release claims, not a universal repair guarantee.

Plugin migration: which instructions apply to your version?

Stable 2.1.2 moves Drone, Board Break, Road Rash, Hall of Meat and grind exits into plugin mods. Board Break includes its deck pack and Road Rash its item pack; find the plugins in GET MODS. OFFICIAL is removed. Existing packs remain installed, MY MODS controls installed packages and UPDATE ALL updates them. Older 2.1.1 instructions using OFFICIAL are historical. Back up your profile and check a small selection before changing a large collection.

October 23 source work: filters, cache and plugin APIs

Main commit 35824f4 adds shown/hidden/either category filters and counts in GET MODS and MY MODS. It clears the game’s own cache before launch when mod inputs change, leaving shipped shader_cache untouched. Merged PR #341 raises the item-list limit from 1,024 to 4,096; #342 adds dedicated-server plugin events. Commit 118c489 adds APIs used by a Luau Filmer port. Filmer PR #343 remains unmerged: these commits do not prove a public plugin release or which code is in the refreshed binaries.

From refreshed prerelease files to the stable release

The October 24 02:27 UTC file refresh was still a prerelease. It has been superseded by stable 2.1.2, published October 24 at 17:18 UTC after all six assets were refreshed around 17:17. The manifest still pins Steam build 25414733. The tag still points to 97793b7, so use the current manifest, file checksums and published release notes to identify this build; do not infer binary contents from the tag alone.

New Reddit questions worth following

Recent r/ReSkate posts ask about unusually fast board wear, creating mods, dark griptape artwork and an Odin 3 / Gamenative startup error. These are individual questions and reports, not confirmed project bugs or fixes. The Gamenative post does not establish Android support. Use the original threads for follow-ups and our board-break, artwork and mod-packaging guides for documented background; include your game version and enabled mods when seeking help. Later posts also discuss footplant jump height and share a fan-made skate-zine cover concept. These are community discussion and artwork, not confirmed new controls or installable mods.

October 23 follow-up: board motion and material APIs

2026-10-23 — Two main-branch commits extend creator interfaces: 1671403 adds board spin and world-space poses for the board and deck; e35e33d lists material parameters on the deck, grip, trucks and wheels and lets plugins hold colour or numeric values. Changes affect the local screen and are restored when cleared or the plugin stops. Integer values and switches are read-only. These are source-development notes, not evidence of a new game release or a published plugin. Stable 2.1.1 and the 2.1.2 prerelease files are unchanged at this check.

Discord discoveries: shoebox pads and ATM decks

Two October 23 creator posts lead to original Thunderstore packages. MysteriousMagexX’s Shoebox Manny Pads 1.0.3 supplies five oversized 12 m shoebox-shaped manual/grind pads with separate 8K designs, described as a free unofficial fan mod. Nugget_Time’s ATMBoardPack 1.0.0 offers ten deck designs. The first is a park-object pack; the second adds cosmetics. Follow the original package notes and our mod/map-asset guides for setup.

October 24 source review: plugins, menus and server tools

The October 24 source review recorded 19 commits through 1949427: plugin-only and modpack installation, the restored menu command, drone-input activity and QuickDrop object families. The later stable 2.1.2 release notes now explicitly confirm plugin installation, the menu fix and object families, plus expanded dedicated-server plugins. The old snapshot remains a dated development record, not a complete binary changelog.

These are individual questions and reports, not confirmed bugs, working tools or verified fixes. Include your build, map, mod profile and log when asking for help; use the existing build/download guide for documented checks.

After the release: in-game Mod Manager and more fixes

The October 25 source check finds 41 additional commits since the previous snapshot, through 788eb98, including branch merges. Changes after stable 2.1.2 add an in-game Mod Manager, download queues, keeping other mods enabled when loading profiles, clearer startup failure details and more crash fixes. These are main-branch developments, not features confirmed in the October 24 stable download. No newer numbered release was found at this check.

October 25 player feedback: settings, mods and Steam sign-in

New Reddit posts describe changed flip-speed settings after updating, board-wear behavior, invisible skaters or stalled server loads with large mod collections, and Steam sign-in failures. October 26 source check: materials and skater poses

The comparison since 788eb98 contains 23 newly reachable commits through 3d70638, including earlier branch work merged on October 25 UTC. They improve shader and material coexistence, isolate a broken board-material declaration to its own mod, and extend plugin-controlled joint poses and pose-scale synchronization. The stable release and its six attachments remain unchanged at 2.1.2. These source changes are not confirmed features of that download.

New community gameplay: Deathraces and Domination

Skate 3 Improved 1.1.5 adds ten original Deathraces, while Domination 0.10.3 is a separate spot-ownership plugin. Board Break Pack 2.6.2 addresses cosmetic-pack conflicts and plugin startup. Follow the linked map, mod and Board Break sections for entry controls, requirements and limitations. These are creator packages with independent version numbers; this site has not tested them in game.

Community follow-up: realistic presets and Steam Deck audio

An October 25 Reddit post shares a 2.1.2 realistic preset, comparison clips and a preset link. Its r/Skate4 cross-post is the same contribution. Another player reports crackling audio on Steam Deck at 60 FPS; replies compare settings without establishing a general fix. At the October 26 Discord check, patch notes still ended with 2.1.2, news with the October 21 plugin announcement, and Studio updates with October 12. No newer substantial media report was found in the selected searches.

RESKATE / ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

Are music and the drone available in the stable release?

Music remains a released feature. In stable 2.1.2 the FPV drone is now a plugin: find it in GET MODS and check its PLUGINS settings. Earlier 2.1.0/2.1.1 menu and pack instructions are version-specific. The supported Steam game build remains a separate requirement.

Does the live version check keep every guide automatically updated?

No. It reads current release metadata and compares the tag with the reviewed baseline. Article text, source snapshots and review dates change only after an editorial review.

Should I download a build from an issue comment to get a new feature?

Use the original project’s Releases as the starting point for published downloads. An issue, proposed patch or main commit is evidence about development, not a replacement for verified release provenance.

Can ReSkate run inside an iframe on this website?

No browser-play build is provided by the reviewed ReSkate release. It needs the local launcher, runtime and game files; an iframe cannot run those native programs. The separate Skate 3 Clean Room browser project is not ReSkate. On October 22 its original game URL returned 404 and its author's site said it was offline while mistakenly included retail files were removed.
