Start in a loaded level

The older built-in drone required a loaded level, then DRONE or dronemenu, START FLYING and STOP FLYING. Stable 2.1.2 moves this feature into an optional plugin: use GET MODS to install it and follow its current controls. Do not treat the old menu path as verified for every plugin version.

Choose a gamepad, keyboard or USB RC radio

The documented gamepad layout uses the left stick for throttle/turning and the right stick for tilt; centre throttle hovers. A / cross arms the drone and Menu / Options resets it. Keyboard controls use W/S for pitch, A/D for roll, E/Q for throttle, the mouse for turning and Shift for boost. A USB RC radio uses the CONTROLLER setup and calibration flow.

Use Follow me while you skate

Choose FOLLOW ME to let the drone film automatically while you control the skater. Adjust follow distance and aggressiveness on the same page, and use STOP FOLLOWING to end it. The release describes wall/ground avoidance and bowl/halfpipe framing; it does not promise that every custom-map obstacle or line produces a clean shot.

Tune the shot and keep recording separate

Start with a built-in drone preset, then change flight feel, camera tilt or display settings as needed. Height hold and self-levelling angle mode can help orient a first flight; acro is another documented mode. Follow me controls the viewpoint rather than exporting a file. For replay camera work, 2.1.0 also offers optional freecam keyframe smoothing.

Markers, model packs and lobby crashes

The October 18 hotfix replaced remote 3D drones with audible markers to address a crash. That is historical context. Stable 2.1.2 removes the built-in drone and OFFICIAL tab: install the Drone plugin through GET MODS and use its own documentation for current model and control behavior.

RESKATE / ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

Why can I hear another drone but only see a marker?

That is the temporary remote-drone display in the October 18 hotfix. The 3D model was removed while its lobby crash is fixed; sound remains.

Does Follow me automatically save a video?

The documented control operates the camera. It does not by itself establish an exported video file; treat recording and replay export as separate workflows.

Do I need to buy an RC radio?

No. The release documents gamepad and keyboard/mouse input as well as USB RC radios. Check the chosen input mode and its controls before changing hardware.
